About John Roy

From an early age, John Roy knew he wanted a career where he could stand up for people and work toward fairness and justice. Seeing his grandfather, father, and older siblings practice law, he was inspired by their deep commitment to helping others and decided to follow the same path.

A proud native of Alexandria, Louisiana, John graduated from Holy Savior Menard Central High School. He then earned his undergraduate degree in political science from Louisiana State University, alongside minors in philosophy and geography. While at LSU, John worked as a runner for the House of Representatives and later spent his final semester working at a Baton Rouge law firm.

After graduating early, John followed in his family’s footsteps and attended LSU Law School, the same institution where his grandfather and siblings earned their degrees. He received a full scholarship and proudly graduated in 2024. During his time in law school, John externed for Judge Guy Holdridge at the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal and worked for an environmental law firm in Washington, D.C. He also participated in LSU Law’s annual charity football game, raising money for various charitable causes in the Baton Rouge area.

After graduating from law school, John joined a prominent personal injury firm where he spent a year and a half challenging himself with a variety of cases. This period was crucial for expanding his legal knowledge, honing his skills, and advocating for injured people. Now, John is excited to return home to Alexandria and join his father’s practice.

Working alongside his father is a profound milestone for him. John credits his parents with instilling in him the core values of integrity, compassion, and hard work. Because his father taught him the true importance of helping others, having the chance to practice law together and serve the people of their community is a deeply meaningful honor. Those early lessons in compassion continue to guide his approach to his work and the way he treats every single client he represents.

Outside of the office, John loves staying active outdoors. He particularly enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, and biking. He also spends his free time cooking, traveling, reading, watching Louisiana sports, and listening to live music.
