A Family Legacy Continues: John Roy Joins the Firm

For more than 60 years, the Roy family has had the privilege of serving individuals and families throughout Central Louisiana. What began with my father, Chris Roy, Sr., became the starting point for my own legal career and now, a new chapter for our practice.

I started practicing law with my father as a young lawyer, learning from him not only about the practice of law, but also about the importance of taking care of clients and treating every person who walks through our doors with care and respect. Although I have largely practiced on my own for the past 25 years, I am especially pleased to share that my son, John, has returned to Alexandria to join me in the practice of law.

John spent the past two years practicing in Lake Charles with a highly respected law firm, where he gained valuable experience and developed his skills as an attorney. His time there gave him the opportunity to learn more about the practice of law and, most importantly, about helping clients through some of the most difficult circumstances they may face.

John’s return marks an exciting new beginning for the Roy law practice. Together, we hope to grow the firm while maintaining standards that have always been important to our family. Namely, providing individualized representation, being accessible to our clients, and taking the time to understand the problems they are facing.

Our focus remains on helping people and families who have been seriously injured, particularly those dealing with the aftermath of automobile accidents and other negligence cases. These types of cases have been the backbone of my practice for nearly 40 years, and I look forward to continuing that work alongside John.

While I had begun to think about slowing down, having the opportunity to practice with my son has given me renewed enthusiasm for the work. With John’s help, along with the dedication of our staff, Morgan and Margaret, we are excited about what lies ahead. We are also embracing new technology that can help us move cases forward efficiently and provide our clients with the level of service they deserve. At the same time, we believe that technology should never replace the personal attention that has always been at the heart of our practice.

For more than 60 years, our family has been proud to serve the people of Central Louisiana, and John’s return allows us to carry that tradition forward while building for the future. We are grateful to the clients, friends, colleagues, and members of our community who have trusted us over the years, and John and I look forward to continuing to serve you and your families for many years to come.
